Download Critical Patches from Microsoft and Apple

Check to see if you have the latest critical patches for your Windows-based PC at http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp. See directions on downloading critical updates for Macintosh-based PCs.

Free Anti-Virus Software:

Students who own a Windows-based computer can download the free anti-virus software, Microsoft Security Essentials, from Microsoft. For Mac OS X (Leopard) users, click on the link Symantec Corporate Anti-Virus Edition to learn how to install it on your computer. Predoctoral students must have an eCommons/Mycourses username and case-sensitive password to receive the Symantec software for their Mac. NOTE: Snow Leopard is currently not compatible with our current licensed version of Symantec.
